HMO benefit plans for employer group health coverage from Western Health Advantage (WHA) will offer access to the Canopy Health alliance of providers and hospitals effective January 1, 2018, subject to regulatory approval.

?Western Health Advantage (WHA) has been accepted by the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) to offer health coverage to CalPERS members during open enrollment in September, with coverage starting in January 2018. WHA has created a dedicated team to provide personalized customer service for CalPERS members, with knowledge specific to state and public agency employees.

Western Health Advantage Chief Executive Officer and President Garry Maisel is the 2017 recipient of the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service from Sacramento State.
