Everyone needs a goal and we need positive reasons to achieve those goals. Even taking off a few pounds can provide you with cardiovascular benefits, so every step in the right direction is a step toward healthier living.
The benefits of a healthy weight
Maintaining a healthy weight or losing weight isn't just about getting into those skinny jeans or looking good in a swim suit. It's about living longer and improving your quality of life. Making small changes in your lifestyle can have a BIG impact on your health. By loosing weight, you could:
- Experience fewer joint and muscle pains
- Reduce the burden on your heart and circulatory system
- Decrease the risk for heart disease and certain cancers
- Improve your blood pressure
- Sleep better!
Know your BMI
Your body mass index (BMI) is a good starting point for knowing if your weight is within the ideal range for your body frame. It's calculated based on your height and weight. A BMI less than 25 is considered a healthy weight. A special tracker tool known as the BMI calculator is available to you at mywhawellness.com.
