CommunityFIT FAQs

CommunityFIT is a NO COST community-based fitness program that offers FREE fitness classes in various parks in downtown Sacramento. Currently, due to COVID-19 we are only offering classes virtually.

Classes are FREE.

Western Health Advantage understands that a healthy community is happy and productive. Our mission includes affecting positive change through outreach and giving back to our community.

CommunityFIT classes are for all fitness levels and abilities.

Yes, your wristband tells the class instructor and CommunityFIT facilitators that you have signed a liability waiver. For virtual classes, your name/email will be cross checked to ensure you have submitted your waiver.

Bring your wristband, an exercise/yoga mat, water, a small towel, and sunscreen if needed.

All the parks hosting the CommunityFIT program have street parking or parking garages close by. Participants are responsible for any parking fees.

Yes. Any items left behind will be returned to Western Health Advantage. Please email CommunityFIT@westernhealth.com to inquire about lost items. WHA is not responsible for any lost items.

Western Health Advantage will analyze participation rates in each activity along with pre- and post-surveys to determine future class schedules.

Follow these steps:

  1. Fill out the online registration form.

  2. You will receive an email with a link to register for classes on Zoom. Register on Zoom to receive the joining link.

  3. Save all classes to your calendar.

  4. If you have registered for CommunityFIT in the past, you do not need to do so again. You will automatically receive the Zoom registration link at the beginning of each 6 week block of classes. Email CommunityFIT@westernhealth.com to update your email address if needed.

You only need to register for CommunityFIT once. You will receive information on upcoming sessions automatically.

Registration is always open for new registrants. Zoom links will be sent approximately 2 weeks before the start of a new block, or immediately if you register during an active block of classes.

If you are pregnant you will need to provide a note from your doctor to participate.

To ensure the safety of all participants, in person classes will be limited to 25 students. Classes are first come first serve. For virtual classes, there is a limit of 500 participants including the host and instructor.

Wristbands are not needed for online classes.

Please wear comfortable, breathable exercise clothing. Dress in layers on colder days. You must also wear your wristband to show you have registered and turned in the liability waiver.

Classes may be cancelled due to heavy rain/wind or extreme cold/heat.

All instructors are certified in group fitness and have many years of teaching experience.
