Western Health Advantage's Quality Improvement Program provides a framework for WHA to continuously identify and make improvements in all settings in which care is delivered to members. The goals and objectives of WHA's QI Program focus on providing an environment that enhances the relationship between patient and physician while providing affordable and compassionate care to its members.

Patient Safety Program

WHA is committed to promoting the delivery of safe, effective health care to its members and to implementing quality improvement initiatives that monitor and improve the safety of care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  Alongside its contracted medical groups/IPAs, WHA focuses on reducing harm from inappropriate or unnecessary care, monitoring hospital quality, investigating clinical complains, and educating providers and members.

The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) is one of health care's most widely used performance improvement tools. 191 million people are enrolled in plans that report HEDIS results. HEDIS measures performance in health care where improvements can make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
