SELF ADMINISTRATION

Indications for Prior Authorization:

  • Treatment of bacterial vaginosis in adult women

Patients must meet the following criteria for the indication(s) above:

  • Diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis
  • Member is at least 18 years of age or older
  • Member has tried and failed two alternatives (e.g. Metronidazole, Clindamycin, Tinidazole) within the previous 6 months

For Reauthorization:

  • At least 14 days should have elapsed since the previous claim for Solosec

Dosing:

  • One single 2-gram packet of granules taken once orally, without regard to meals
  • Sprinkle entire contents of packet onto applesause, yogurt, or pudding. Consume all the mixture within 30 minutes without chewing or crunching the granules. A glass of water may be taken after the administration to aid in swallowing.
  • The granules are not intended to be dissoled in any liquid

Approval:

  • Limited to a single dose (1 fill of a 2-gram packet)
