Nurse Advice Line

Nurse Advice

WHA strives to provide our members with innovative ways to support optimal health and lead healthy lifestyles.

Through Optum's Health Portal, you have 24/7 access to interactive health tools and trackers. You also have access to registered nurses through a nurse advice line.

Have a medical concern and are not sure what to do?

NurseLine

WHA provides 24/7 access to a nurse advice line staffed with registered nurses through NurseLine. You can speak directly with a nurse at 877.793.3655 (currently, option 5). Hearing-impaired participants dial in by calling 711, then the toll-free number, 877.793.3655. It rings into our nurse advice line with a slight delay.

Registered nurses are available to answer any of your health questions for advice and information on:

  • Symptoms you are experiencing
  • Minor illnesses and injuries
  • Chronic conditions
  • Medical tests and medications
  • Preventive care
  • Prepare for doctor visits

Starting on January 1, 2024, we will have a new Nurse Advice phone number and service that our members can reach at any time day or night.  However, this will not be in operation for WHA members until January 1, 2024.  Members will also find this phone number conveniently located on the back of their WHA I.D. card.

This is particularly helpful for when you need medical advice about a health issue, or have questions about a health concern, or feeling sick (or you are injured and unsure what to do). Through our confidential nurse advice line, members may talk with a registered nurse who can evaluate symptoms, offer advice, assess care and treatment options, and assist in determining whether to seek urgent or emergency care from a nearby network facility.
