Western Health Advantage appreciates and values its employees and seeks to recognize and honor them for their hard work, dedication, and commitment. In order to create an environment where employees are recognized for contributions that reflect the mission, values, and customer focus of the organization, our Employee Recognition Program offers monthly, quarterly, and annual recognition opportunities.

Customer Kudos Award

WHA encourages all employees to provide excellent customer service during every interaction. The Customer Kudos Award is intended to recognize and honor those special individuals who provide outstanding customer service beyond the customer’s expectations. Customers include Members, Employers, Brokers, Providers, WHA Employees, and Partners. This award provides a way to recognize employees who have been identified by their customers as having:

  • Exhibited extra effort in addressing the customer’s needs.
  • Exceeded the customer’s expectations in effort, timeliness, and/or resolution.
  • Functions in a spirit of partnership with other employees and their customers.

Nominations must include examples of what the employee did and the impact of their action(s). Each awardee will receive a certificate with their nomination details, a gift card, and have their name posted on iWHA and in break rooms.

Who is eligible for a Customer Kudos Award?

All employees, as well those working through a staffing agency, are eligible for the Customer Kudos Award.

How are nominations evaluated?

Nominations are accepted monthly and must be submitted using the nomination form. Nominations received after the last business day of the month will be considered the following month. The Employee Recognition Committee will review each nomination based on the information received to determine if the award criteria has been met.


Superior Teamwork Above Responsibilities (STAR) Award

While every employee makes significant contributions to WHA’s success in their daily work, the Superior Teamwork Above Responsibilities (STAR) Award is intended to recognize and honor those special individuals who perform above and beyond the standard high performance levels of WHA’s employees. The STAR Award provides a way to recognize employees who have demonstrated the following outstanding qualities:

  • Made a significant contribution, accomplishment, or achievement to a project, service, department, or WHA overall.
  • Embraces change and looks for ways to improve processes while continuing to provide a high level of value to WHA.

Nominations must include examples of the employee’s contribution(s) or achievement(s) and the impact of their effort(s). STAR employees are identified by a star in their work area, and their names will be posted on iWHA and in break rooms. Each STAR employee will receive a certificate with their nomination details and a gift card.

Who is eligible for a STAR Award?

All full-time and part-time employees working 20 hours or more are eligible to be nominated for a STAR Award. Seasonal employees, as well as those working through a staffing agency, are not eligible for a STAR Award.

How are nominations evaluated?

Employee Recognition Events

Employees are recognized for their hard work and achievements during themed events hosted by the Employee Recognition Committee. Employees are encouraged to attend and enjoy the food, games, and always a crowd favorite – the prizes! These events provide a great opportunity for interacting with co-workers in a fun and casual atmosphere. Company-wide events are hosted on a regular basis, and on occasion, smaller-scale events are hosted for specific teams (Nurse’s Day, Customer Service Week, etc.).

Who is eligible to participate in recognition events?

All employees, as well as those working through a staffing agency, may participate in recognition events.

Birthday Recognition Program

Employees are recognized each year during their birthday month by receiving a personally signed birthday card and being entered into a drawing for a chance to win a prize. Employee names will be posted on iWHA and in break rooms.

Who is eligible to receive birthday recognition?

All employees are eligible for birthday recognition. Those working through a staffing agency are not eligible for this program.

What if I do not want to receive birthday recognition?

Participation in the birthday recognition program is voluntary. Contact the Employee Recognition Committee to be removed; it is not necessary to provide a reason for nonparticipation.


Service Recognition Program

WHA honors its experienced employees for their longevity and continuing contributions to our mission and culture. Employees are recognized for each year of service with WHA (service years equal calendar years of employment). Employees receive an anniversary certificate signed by our CEO, and names will be posted on iWHA and in break rooms. Additionally, employees receive a credit to their PTO bank and a gift card (PTO credit and gift card amount vary by service year).

Who is eligible to receive service recognition?

All full-time and part-time employees working 20 hours or more are eligible for this program. Seasonal employees and those working through a staffing agency are not eligible for this program.
