WHA Launches Two Medicare Advantage Plans

Long-standing relationships with regional medical groups prompt development of affordable, benefit-rich plans now available to Medicare-eligible beneficiaries across Northern CA

SACRAMENTO, CA (October 1, 2020) – Responding to the tremendous community demand and popularity of all-in-one Medicare Advantage plans, Western Health Advantage (WHA) announced its new Medicare Advantage plans are now available as an option during this year’s Annual Enrollment Period which starts Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, 2020. Western Health Advantage MyCare (HMO) and MyCare Plus (HMO) plans are available to Medicare-eligible residents in six Northern California counties: Marin, Napa, Sacramento, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo.

By choosing a WHA MyCare or WHA MyCare Plus plan, Medicare beneficiaries get prescription drug coverage and vision care, which is not included in Original Medicare. In addition, for a low or zero monthly premium, WHA MyCare and WHA MyCare Plus plans combine value-added benefits such as health care assistance while traveling worldwide, complimentary fitness membership, routine wellness exams and alternative care services, and over-the-counter quarterly pharmacy allowances.

“Our goal is to make quality health care affordable and accessible to everyone in the communities we serve, said Garry Maisel, President and CEO of Western Health Advantage. “Seniors especially, need expanded choices when it comes to their changing health care needs, so we don’t limit our members to just one medical group, hospital or doctor for their care.”

Multiple Medical Groups in one Network

Founded by leading health care systems Dignity Health and NorthBay Healthcare, Western Health Advantage plan members extends health care access for its members through a wide network of exceptional doctors and hospitals, including Hill Physicians Medical Group, Dignity Health’s Mercy Medical Group and Woodland Clinic Medical Group, Meritage Medical Network, NorthBay Healthcare Group, and St. Joseph Health Medical Network.

Easy Ways to Learn and Enroll

Western Health Advantage give Medicare-eligible beneficiaries several ways to explore the details and make an informed decision: by talking one-on-one with a licensed Medicare agent or broker; reaching out to Medicare representatives by phone; or attending a free online Medicare event which explains Medicare Advantage benefits and coverage. “As a regional health plan, our advantage is quite simply that Western Health Advantage offers flexibility and choice in affordable coverage, and more importantly, we are easy to reach because we are local, so we can get answers to your questions, without delay,” Maisel added.
