Welcome to Western Health Advantage's Contracted Service Providers web page designed to provide links to some of our key service providers. They have been selected to support access to clinically credible and quality oriented health information resources.

Alere® and Western Health Advantage have partnered to provide excellent disease management services for all WHA members. Practitioners can refer their patients for disease management services on-line or by contacting WHA directly. In addition, Alere has a toll-free, nurse-driven telephonic support program known as Nurse24 that provides immediate clinical support for everyday health issues and questions that otherwise might lead to an unnecessary doctor or emergency room visit. WHA members can contact Nurse24 at (877)793-3655 or chat with a nurse on-line at mywha.org/healthsupport.

HealthSmart a preferred provider organization that Western Health Advantage contracts with to minimize the overall cost of care should a member (for an emergency) require access to care from a physician or hospital outside of WHA's service area. HealthSmart providers can be identified by calling WHA's Member Services at (916) 563-2250 or (888)563-2250, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. You may also contact HealthSmart by accessing their website at http://www.healthsmart.com/. Although HealthSmart providers are not part of WHA's provider network, WHA does pay for covered services that are rendered by HealthSmart Provider's in the case of out-of-area emergencies only.

American Specialty Health and Western Health Advantage have partnered to provide online wellness tools to WHA members through Healthyroads®. Helpful resources such as personal health assessments, customized exercise plans, and self-guided coaching modules are available. WHA members can access Healthyroads from our website at westernhealth.com.

Landmark Healthplan of California, Inc. is a Knox-Keene licensed specialized health services plan that has been supporting the delivery of evidence-based medicine since 1985. They offer a statewide network of over 1500 credentialed chiropractic and acupuncture providers.

Magellan Health Services provides valuable behavioral and mental health and wellness information, self-help tools, and resources to help with life's challenges as well as life's opportunities under our Western Health Advantage contract. In addition, your login is secure and will give you access to behavioral health plan benefits, ability to search for a provider in your area, ability to complete on-line forms, and feedback surveys about your experience with our providers.

Medical Eye Services If your employer group has purchased corrective eyewear coverage as part of your benefit plan, your eyewear benefits will be available through Medical Eye Services.

Medco is a leading pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), with the nation's largest mail order pharmacy operations. Through advanced pharmacy, Medco services are designed to help control total health costs, improve quality of care and increase member satisfaction.

Optum Health has managed behavioral healthcare services for individuals and families across the country for more than 20 years.
