Mental Health

Behavioral health services, including chemical dependency services, are not covered by WHA. Mental health and substance abuse services are covered through United Behavioral Health (UBH), the supplemental coverage provided by your employer. You may reach UBH at (888) 440-8225.

Out-of-Pocket Limit

In compliance with California's Mental Health Parity Legislation, eligible in-network copays incurred for mental health diagnoses contained in the California Mental Health Parity Law will be applied toward your medical annual Out-Of-Pocket Limit. United Behavioral Health (UBH) will automatically report these copays to your medical carrier (dates of service incurred on and after January 1, 2008 without diagnosis or treatment information), so you will not be required to keep track of these costs. For your information, a list of eligible diagnoses can be found on UBH's website at https://www.liveandworkwell.com/public. Enter Access Code 11280 to get into the site.

Staywell Wellness Program

A New Year, Time to Take a New Health Assessment

Get off to a healthy start in 2011 by completing a new health assessment. They are free, confidential and may pay off, literally.

In 2011, the incentive award is a $100 gift card for faculty, staff and retirees and a $50 gift card for spouses/domestic partners. You must be enrolled in a UC medical plan on January 1, 2011 and complete both the health assessment and a StayWell follow-up program by December 15, 2011 to qualify for the gift card. Even if you completed a health assessment and received a gift card in 2010, you are encouraged to do so again for 2011. Children and other family members (other than spouse/domestic partner) are not eligible for the StayWell program in 2011. More details are available on the StayWell website. Click Here
